How's your Latin?
The inscription on the sarcophagus says:
ANGLORUM REGIS QUI COR LEONIS DICTUS OBIIT AN M C XC IX that is: "Here lies the heart of Richard, King of England, who was called 'Lion Hearted', died 1199".   I don't know where the rest of him is, but he left his heart in Rouen. Rouen, by the way, is a small town.   It is on the order of 7-8 square miles.   This is probably smaller than any town you have ever lived in.   Keep that in mind; I'll mention it again later.   |
